Description

Carl Scheidig produced this antique porcelain figure at the Gräfenthal factory in Thuringia, Germany, during the interwar period, circa 1925–1935. The piece depicts a lively pair of Scottish Terriers in motion, captured with charm and personality.

The modeling emphasizes movement and character. Textured coats, alert expressions, and playful interaction give the dogs a strong sense of life. This paired composition appears less often than the more common single-figure terrier forms.

The underside bears the Gräfenthal deer mark along with an impressed model number, confirming both origin and period.

The figure remains well preserved for its age and represents early 20th-century German animal porcelain made for display and enjoyment. It appeals to collectors of antique European ceramics and admirers of classic Scottish Terrier forms.
