Hand-painted Dutch windmills with metal sail details

This charming pair of V.K. Delfts Holland salt and pepper shakers captures one of the most recognizable symbols of Dutch culture: the traditional windmill. Crafted in Holland and decorated in classic blue-and-white Delft style, each shaker features hand-painted floral motifs, delicate metal windmill sails, and decorative metal gallery trim surrounding the base.

Produced during the postwar era for the tourist and export market, these pieces reflect the enduring appeal of Delft-inspired pottery while offering a distinctive decorative presence. Their architectural form and detailed construction set them apart from many novelty shaker sets of the period.

Both shakers retain their original cork stoppers and present beautifully with strong color, intact metalwork, and no visible chips or cracks noted. Whether displayed in a collection of European ceramics, blue-and-white pottery, or cottage-inspired décor, they offer both decorative charm and vintage character.
