Edmund Wilson (1895 – 1972) was widely regarded as the most important literary critic of the 20th century. Notable amongst his friends and peers, long time friend and Princeton roommate, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Ernest Hemingway, whose careers were launched and later salvaged by his support. He attended Princeton University from 1912 – 1916, where he first met F. Scott Fitzgerald and another long time friend, Poet John Allan Wyeth.

His life and character, as he lived, is too complicated for this simple read.
